Heidi Nicole Stoeckley is a former professional dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company.  Heidi studied at The Juilliard School, where she received her BFA in Dance with academic honors in 2001 and was awarded the Martha Hill Prize. Prior to her training at The Juilliard School, Stoeckley received her high-school diploma from The Virginia School of the Arts, where she was awarded the Van Lewis Award for Excellence and the Coca-Cola Scholarship for Academic and Artistic Merit.

After an extensive performance career, Stoeckley co-founded Plastic Projects in Bali, Indonesia, a dance collaborative that produced works inclusive of traditional Indonesian dance and western dance forms. In 2010, she became Professor of Modern Dance and Choreography at Singapore's School of the Arts (SOTA), where she met sculptor John Stewart Jackson. While in Singapore, Stoeckley and Jackson co-founded MonkeyFist Arts with contemporary composer Dirk Johan Stromberg, continuing to create and perform works across the globe.

In 2008, Stoeckley earned her MA in Arts Administration from Columbia University in New York City. As co-founder of Birmingham Sculpture, LLC., she enjoys supporting the business operations.  She and John Stewart live near the foundry with their two young daughters and continue to collaborate in the field of dance.
