Holly Reese McCreary is a Birmingham native and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in sculpture from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As one of the cofounders of Birmingham Sculpture, she offers artistic input as well as contributes to the daily operations of the company. 

Holly learned the ins and outs of foundry work and casting while interning with Sloss Metal Arts during the course of her art education. She met “Big Joe” there, and the two have been creating together ever since.  She spent several summers as an associate instructor in the Summer Youth program at Sloss. She has maintained connections in the casting community and looks forward to each creative opportunity. As well as casting experience, Holly spent many years making concrete countertops for kitchens and baths as well as other custom, decorative, and functional concrete pieces.

When Holly is not assisting in the management and ongoing creative endeavors of Birmingham Sculpture, you can find her providing realtime captions for individuals in need of communication access.  She finds great joy in being able to provide this service for others.
